At 12B Chan Cam Street, Hoan Kiem District, guests will discover a building with a truly distinctive exterior. With only a Chapter Dining sign, passersby may wonder what the interior design of this fine-dining restaurant looks like. Once they step inside for a meal, those questions gradually find their answers through the stories behind each dish, the carefully selected ingredients, and the thoughtfully curated artwork.
Designed by Tran Quang Trung Architect (Mars Architect), Chapter Dining embodies our restaurant’s spirit of innovation and creativity, while showcasing meticulous craftsmanship in every detail.
With a warm palette of beige, black, and deep gold complemented by natural materials, Chapter Dining offers a modern architectural space for an ideal fine-dining restaurant in Hanoi.
One of its most striking features is the intentionally curved steel panels, which create an illusion of movement as guests walk past. Inspired by the ever-shifting nature of smoke and flames in Chapter’s kitchen, these steel panels add a dynamic visual element, sparking curiosity in every diner who visits.
Additionally, the vibrant paintings displayed against the gray walls leave a lasting impression. These original artworks, created by young Vietnamese artists, bring a fresh and unique touch that sets Chapter apart from any other fine dining restaurant.

Recognized by architects, designers, hoteliers, and leaders in interior design and architecture, Chapter stands out for its unique design style and distinctive fine dining experience.
One of the restaurant’s key values is its focus on guest emotions, sincerity in service, and seamless operations. Mars Architect hopes that through Chapter Dining, more refined and high-quality design projects from Vietnam will reach the global stage in the future.
Just as Chapter’s cuisine emphasizes ingredients as the centerpiece, its design stays true to raw materials, using only untreated steel, natural stone, and curved corten steel in various shapes. Despite differing architectural elements, each space maintains a cohesive and authentic design philosophy from the outset. This ensures that whether guests dine alone, as a couple, or in a group, their experience remains seamless and exceptional.
The story behind restaurant interior design
Beyond exceptional cuisine and service, Chapter Dining believes that the restaurant’s design and ambiance play crucial roles in delivering a complete fine dining experience.
From the very beginning, Chef Dung and the architecture team worked together to develop a unified vision for the restaurant’s design.
Chapter’s building was transformed from a deteriorating two-story hotel into a unique dining space. Located in the bustling Old Quarter, where countless tourists pass by each day, the restaurant’s design needed to be striking and distinctive, both in its facade and interior.
On the Chapter Menu, grilled dishes are prepared using precise fire control techniques, creating a perfect balance of charcoal, smoke, and heat to preserve the ingredient’s purest flavors.
The charcoal grilling techniques used in Chapter’s kitchen served as inspiration for the entire restaurant’s interior design — a dynamic contrast between hard and soft, hot and cold, raw yet refined. This vision is most evident in the curved steel structures, which required meticulous calculations to ensure both aesthetic appeal and uniqueness.
Every element within Chapter Dining is intentionally placed, carrying its own meaning and design signature. Together, they create a seamless fine dining experience for diners in Hanoi.
